How this checker works

The score is derived from 8 objective checks — contact completeness, summary length, section labelling, bullet count, quantified impact, skills grouping, education presence, and weak-verb starts. Same rubric Emplirao uses inside the CV editor.

Nothing you paste is stored. The check runs server-side and the raw text is discarded once the score is returned. No account required, no email required.

How to read your score

  • 0–49 (poor): the resume has structural gaps that will cost you the ATS pass. Focus on the missing-section issues first — those account for the biggest single-line score jumps.
  • 50–69 (fair): the basics are present. The remaining gap is usually bullet quality — weak verbs and unquantified impact are the two most common findings at this band.
  • 70–84 (good): a competitive resume. The last 15 points typically come from summary polish and complete keyword coverage against the job you're targeting (that's what our Keyword Scanner is for).
  • 85–100 (great): keep this one. Reuse the format for future roles.

Questions people ask

Is this really free? What's the catch?

There is no catch on the score itself — the underlying analysis is deterministic (no AI cost) and we don't store your resume. Emplirao is the paid product that helps you fix the issues we find; the free score is how we introduce it.

Is this score a real ATS test?

It's Emplirao's internal ATS readiness score, calibrated to what Workday, Greenhouse and Lever surface most often. It is NOT a prediction of interviews, offers, or hiring outcomes.

Why do you need my resume as text and not a PDF?

For the MVP we accept pasted text so nothing is uploaded, stored, or parsed server-side. PDF upload is coming — paste is faster in the meantime and produces the same score.

What's the difference between this and the keyword scanner?

This checks your resume against a general ATS rubric. The Keyword Scanner checks it against a SPECIFIC job description you're targeting. Use both.
