Resume keyword scanner — find missing ATS keywords

Paste your resume and the job description. We extract the top keywords the JD emphasises, then show which your resume covers vs which are missing. Same tokenizer Emplirao uses inside the CV editor.

How this scanner works

The scanner ranks keywords from the JD by importance (whitelisted technical terms first, then frequency) and checks each one against your resume text with word-boundary matching. This is what legacy ATS (Taleo, Workday, iCIMS) actually do — literal keyword hits, not semantic embeddings.

Nothing is stored. The scan runs server-side, results return, raw text is discarded.

How to read the coverage

  • 80%+ coverage: your resume is well aligned. Ship it.
  • 60–79%: solid base. Add 2–4 of the missing keywords in the natural places (Summary, top bullet in the relevant role).
  • Under 60%: the resume needs meaningful reshaping to match this JD. Either tailor the bullets to cover the gaps, or reconsider whether this role is aligned with your actual profile.

Questions people ask

How does this compare to Jobscan?

Same idea, no signup required, and (once the corpus is loaded) our Job Match tool goes one step further — it also shows you 3 live jobs that share your skills.

Why only 8 preview keywords?

The free scan surfaces the top 8 in each direction (16 total) because that's already enough to see the gap. The full 25 with AI-suggested placement is unlocked with the Emplirao trial.

Does keyword-stuffing pass ATS?

Emphatically no. Legacy ATS reward relevant keyword coverage in natural context. A skills-section dump won't fool a recruiter and won't help ranking.
